1. Introduction

Maugene Engineering ("we", "us", "our") operates this website. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this site, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

2. Information We Collect

We only collect personal information you choose to give us directly, through the Contact page's quote request form and the Wheel Adapters order form. This can include your name, company name, phone number, email address, and any details about the work, vehicle or wheel adapter you're enquiring about. If you apply for credit by emailing us our credit application form, we also receive the business registration details, names, ID numbers and addresses of directors, members, partners or proprietors, banking details, property details, trade references and any supporting documents on or with that form. This website does not use cookies, tracking scripts or analytics, so we do not collect any information automatically as you browse.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you submit only to respond to your enquiry or order request — for example, to call or email you back with a quote, to process a wheel adapter order, or to answer a question about our services. We do not use your information for marketing you haven't asked for.

Information in a credit application is used only to assess your application and to manage your account. Credit applications are sent to us by email, not through this website, and are handled by our accounts team.

4. Sharing Your Information

We don't share any of the information we collect on this website with third parties, and we will never sell your information. The only exception is a credit application: as set out in clause 17 of our Terms & Conditions of Sale, which you accept when you apply, we may contact your trade references and credit bureaus to assess your application and may report on how your account is conducted. Your details stay with Maugene Engineering and are only used for the purpose you submitted them for.

5. Data Retention

We keep the information you submit only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your enquiry or order, and for any legitimate business or legal record-keeping purpose after that. If you'd like us to delete your information sooner, contact us using the details below.

6. Your Rights Under POPIA

Under POPIA, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to access, correct or delete that information, and to object to how we process it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator if you believe your information hasn't been handled properly — you can find out more at inforegulator.org.za.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep the information you give us safe from loss, misuse or unauthorised access.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
